Sun & Self

This will be easiest to explore on a sunny day, though it can be done at any time with a little extra awareness of where the sun may be hiding.

-Wherever you are, inside or outside, locate where the sun is right now. You can still do this if the sun has already set for the day.

-Notice if you’re facing towards or away from it, partially or fully.

-Notice all of the material layers that may stand between it and you (building walls, trees, curtains, clothing, etc).

-Without changing anything, become aware of the entire distance/space between your back body and the sun, as though you could map it out. Give that several long moments to orient yourself in this way.

-Now notice the entire distance between your front body and the sun.

-Notice the distance between the top of your head and the sun.

-Notice the distance between the soles of your feet and the sun.

-Now imagine that all of that space between you and the sun is plump, alive, and malleable.

What changes do you observe in your breath, your muscles and bones, your sense of space, or your emotions as you explore?
